Reflections from a Mom

I was making sauteed zucchini (fyi, goes great with honey glazed carrots and brisket) for my 20 yr. old college student this weekend and thinking about our FFF Kids program and how teaching these healthy habits at a young age really does make a difference.
I never really had to worry about what to make for dinner for my kid because we taught him to eat a variety of vegetables and fruits from an early age (tofu and carrots were a favorite). Making healthy choices has carried into young adulthood for him. He picks salads instead of fries, would rather make breakfast at home instead of doing the usual college student fast food number (cost could be a bit of a factor here) and almost always will drink water instead of soda. His dad and I did not have a program like FFF Kids to guide us (could have avoided a few mistakes if we had). However, I think our kid is a great example of what the program teaches because at 20 he is making the healthy choices he was taught 18 years ago.
