Since it has been some time since the last posting I will not spend too much time saying “I told you so” about my prediction on Florida Wines medaling at the Florida State Fair’s International Wine and Grape Juice Competition. Out of the 120 Florida wine entries 85 medals were taken home by 17 Florida wineries. Impressive! Now if more of you will start tasting and talking about how wonderful the new generation of Florida wines are then we can help the wine drinkers who are not afraid to learn something new. Overcoming habitual desire to consume the same beverage again and again takes strength. Consider what Aristotle had to say on this. I count him braver who overcomes his desires than him who conquers his enemies; for the hardest victory is over self. So, control your “self”, include another dimension in your wine knowledge and learn about Florida wines.
