A Farm’s Amazing Maze

In 1963 Frank Scott, Jr. moved from Virginia to Zellwood, FL with his wife Becky and children, Hank, Marks and Rebecca to establish a farm with childhood friend Billy Long. Shortly after, the 100 acre farm was named Long & Scott Farms and the planning began. Billy & Frank’s plan resulted in the use of 1,200 acres to produce sweet corn, pickle cucumbers, red and green cabbage and a variety of other Florida produce.
Billy, now retired, and Frank, semi-retired, leave the farm operations up to the fourth generation of farmers. Rebecca and Marks manage Scott’s Corn Maze Adventures, which has turned out to be an educational, family and fun event. Each year the siblings try selecting themes that are educational and relevant to various educational curriculum. This year’s theme, “Weather on the Farm”, focuses on how the various types of weather affect the farm and the science of meteorology.
Have fun on the farm with Florida agriculture! The farm welcomes birthday celebrations, scouts, youth groups and corporate parties. Join the Scott’s Corn Maze Adventures and Country Market this fall. The farm will reopen October 1, 2009.
