Occasionally, we like to feature some of our great Florida Agriculture Promotional Campaign (FAPC) members on our blog. (What is FAPC? click here). This week I’d like to spotlight Auburndale Fruit Company.
In business since 1993, Auburndale Fruit Co. has handled and grown citrus and watermelon. Most recently they have started growing microgreens, which they grow hydroponically. Marketing Rep for the company, Vanessa, told me that they are very excited about venturing into the rapidly growing area of micro vegetables.
Auburndale’s Florida watermelons are harvested and available between April and June. Their watermelons are carried in Albertons and Weis Markets, among others retailers.
They also grow a variety of micro greens, including the well known Arugula and Watercress, but also some more specialized varieties like Amaranth, Garnett Mustard and Wrinkle Crinkle Cress. Make sure to check out their website for a more complete listing.
For further information you can contact them directly at 800-782-4032. If email is your preferred way of contact, you can contact Vanessa Broxton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
