Eating locally has become something consumers are setting out to do these days. As far as seafood goes, you can make sure you’re getting the freshest, most wholesome seafood available by looking for the “Go Native!” logo when shopping at your retail seafood market or dining out. You will be able to spot establishments that sell Florida seafood by looking for the “Go Native!” logo displayed at seafood markets and restaurants.

There is no substitute for fresh, locally produced Florida seafood. With over 80 different seafood varieties, Florida offers a wide selection of culinary treasures. Florida seafood is not only delicious, it’s good for you, too. Studies show that including servings of fish in your diet has been found to help protect against heart disease. According to a Journal of the American Medical Association study, consuming fish just two times a week can reduce the risk of heart-related death by 36 percent.

Florida’s seafood industry has an economic impact of nearly $1 billion annually and employs more than 30,000 people throughout Florida. When you “Go Native!” you are helping to support Florida’s fishermen, who work hard to bring you delicious Florida seafood while working to preserve a healthy marine environment.
