Introducing Fresh from Florida Chicken

This week we are launching a new campaign just in time for grilling on Memorial Day – Fresh from Florida Chicken!  Of course “Fresh from Florida” chicken isn’t just any chicken…

It’s fresh. If you’re from my neck of the woods (Northeast Florida), you are probably familiar with all the chicken houses in the area.  Well, 80% of chicken from Florida comes from Suwannee, Lafayette, Madison and Hamilton counties.  In this area, the chicken is raised antibiotic-free on an all-vegetable diet and is then processed in a state-of-the-art Pilgrim’s Pride facility in Live Oak that features advanced air-chilling technology to ensure quality and freshness.

It’s local. Eating locally-raised and produced food is better for the environment because it travels less distance to reach you.  It’s also better for the state and local economy.  The poultry industry in Suwannee, Lafayette and Madison counties supports nearly 100 farms and creates 3,700 jobs

It’s clean. Another awesome thing about this campaign: 99% of the chicken producers in the Suwannee Valley region have agreed to use “Best Management Practices,” which significantly reduce the amount of pollution from the farms that enter local water resources.

You can buy Fresh from Florida chicken right now in Sam’s Club stores throughout Florida. It is expected that other stores will be carrying it soon.  Also look for our logo to know you are getting a Fresh from Florida product!

Let the world know!
