We have posted information on Florida seafood on the Bureau of Seafood and Aquaculture Marketing website which aims to clear up misconceptions about the safety of Florida seafood in the aftermath of the Gulf oil spill.

Included on the site are links to safety, harvest areas/availability and where to get Florida seafood.  Plus, there is a link to the Florida Seafood Hotline, which is updated daily at 2:00pm or more often when necessary. The telephone number for the hotline is 1-800-357-4273. You can also click on the banner link on the main page of the website.

If you’re not sure about Florida seafood, check out the site.  Hopefully it will put your mind at ease and it will encourage you to buy some delicious seafood products from Florida.

One Response to Florida Seafood is Safe, Plentiful and Available

I am retired from F & B. Florida has so many miles of coast line, I find it incredible the high prices and limited selection in fresh seafoods at most outlets.
I am most fortunate that I shop at the Asian markets as the selection and prices are almost reasonable. I can often find whole head fish for less than $3.00 lb.
