The Florida Small Farms and Alternative Enterprises Conference returns on July 31 and August 1 at the Osceola Heritage Park on 1875 Silver Spur Lane in Kissimmee.  Last year’s event was a rousing success, and the agenda for this year looks very interesting.

In addition to exhibitors from the public and private sectors all with the goal of promoting agriculture and allied products/services, there will be break out sessions with topics like horticulture, policy and regulations, livestock, alternative energy, alternative enterprises, business management, organic and sustainable farming, and marketing.  Department booths will feature information on Animal Industry, Agricultural Dealer’s Licenses, Food Safety and FAPC.

Another cool feature of the conference is the use of locally-produced foods from Florida farms in the breaks and luncheons.  The foods were big hits last year and this year promises to be just as yummy.

For those interested in attending one or both days, registration information is on the Small Farms website.  Registering by July 12 gets you a discount. For more information about the Small Farms and Alternative Enterprises program, check out http://smallfarms.ifas.ufl.edu/.

If you do get a chance to attend, please stop by booths 600, 602 and 616 to say “hi!”
