Florida’s Green Winery

Bunker Hill Vineyard, best known for handcrafted wines with interesting names such as Night Thief, Forest Keeper and Foxy Red, may also be Florida’s only winery to say they have reduced their carbon footprint by more than 60%.
This is accomplished by using recycled wine bottles for bottling so there is no shipping involved. They also use glass to store and age wine instead of wooden barrels so trees do not have to be used. The “press crusher” and most of the other equipment is manually operated eliminating electricity for these tasks.
Their steel buildings are 100% recyclable and all of the wooden fixtures have come from storm damaged trees on their property. The irrigation system is powered by solar energy and uses water from a well.
Bunker Hill specializes in handcrafted, artisan wine. From hand-picking the grapes to hand-labeling the bottles, this Environmentally Responsible Winery (ERW) believes that this is what keeps them close to the wines from birthing through the maturing process.
The winery, located in Duette (near St. Petersburg), is open from 11 am to 6 pm 7 days a week.
Handcrafted wine is the trademark; exceptional taste is their pledge.
