New Campaign for Florida Seafood

The Department launched a new site yesterday, www.MyFloridaGulfSafe.com, as part of a new awareness campaign to reassure consumers that Florida seafood is safe and plentiful. This press release and statement issued by Commissioner Putnam goes over the seafood testing and results that has been conducted between August 2010 and June 2011, showing that Florida seafood is safe and available.
A few other components of this new campaign are the use of billboards and tollbooth signs on Florida’s Turnpike, print advertising in food service industry and consumer magazines, tabletop displays at Florida seafood restaurants and markets, and a feature article in Guy Harvey Magazine. You can view some of these media components on the new website already.
But trust us, as people “in the know,” there are many other exciting features of this new campaign that will roll out later this year and through 2012 that we cannot wait to share with you!
