The Hopeful Gardener Tries Again
|July 6, 2011||Posted by Melissa under Agriculture, Horticulture, Produce|
As promised in my last post, I planted more things over the weekend. Once again the staff at my local nursery tried to warn me that because of the heat and location of my container garden, my plants may not make it. However, knowing that they weren’t supposed to thrive last year and they did made me feel like risking the heartbreak.
The container in the back right has the herbs that began last year. The back left container holds four types of tomatoes, some of them heirloom varieties. They are Big Beefsteak, Black Prince, Yellow Teardrop, and Sweet 100 (a cherry type that I grew last year). The little container in the front has flat-leaf parsley, cilantro and a jalapeno plant.
I’ll post updates from time to time, but if you have any feedback or growing tips you would like to share, please do so!
