Busy in Boston

You may not realize that each year thousands of people descend on Boston to attend the largest seafood trade event in North America, the International Boston Seafood Show (IBSS). And our very own Seafood Bureau has participated in this glorious gathering, 22 years running!
Last year over 18,000 people attended, and final numbers are sure to surpass that count this year. Various companies that sell Florida seafood set up their wares and speak with prospective buyers and customers over a three day period. This is their time to shine and show the bountiful products that the Gulf and Atlantic have to offer. There is a huge diversity of products and services showcased from many different countries. Needless to say, it is a very exciting event!
The following companies participated in the 2012 IBSS: Shaw’s Southern Belle Frozen Foods (value added seafood), Frenchy’s Stone Crab (stone crab claws), Wood’s Fisheries (rock shrimp, royal red shrimp, white shrimp), Southeastern Sea Products (IQF oysters and farm-raised clams), Ariel Seafood/Gulf Wild (red and vermillion snapper), Scientific Associates (farm-raised saltwater shrimp and farm raised sun ray venus clams), and Florida Alligator Marketing and Education (alligator meat)
