When Hernando DeSoto arrived on the coast of Florida, he spent years searching for gold and silver and exploring the area. Little did he know Florida’s greatest treasures were there in the water–fresh Florida seafood!
DeSoto is honored each year in downtown Bradenton with the DeSoto Heritage Seafood Festival. And lucky you, it is coming up this weekend!
This awesome event, held close to the banks of the Manatee River, is recognized as one of Florida’s most outstanding riverfront/downtown events and rightfully so. Delicious seafood from local restaurants and vendors is plentiful, along with a great lineup of entertainment. Area artisans and craft vendors as well as other fun activities make the event lots of fun for the whole family.
Support local seafood and make plans to attend. Be on the lookout for the Fresh from Florida Seafood logo, along with recipe brochures and giveaway items. It is sure to be a good time for all.
