Costco Offering Clams for $5 Off Per Bag for Father’s Day Weekend!

Want to impress your family with something special for your Father’s Day cookout? Swing into your local Costco store and pick up a bag of fresh clams for $10! That’s $5 off per bag! This clam promotion is being sponsored by the Bureau of Seafood and will run in Costco Stores from Texas to New England on Father’s Day weekend. Costco will have more than twice the amount of clams they normally carry in order to supply the potential demand. Clams will be provided by Cedar Key Aquaculture and other clam farmers across the state. Look for the “Fresh From Florida” Gulf Seafood logo and help support the Florida seafood industry!

Wine-Steamed Clams
Ingredients
- 2 dozen Florida littleneck clams, rinsed well
- 2 cups white wine
- 1 small red onion, sliced
- 2 tablespoons garlic, chopped
- 2 teaspoons fresh ginger, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon whole black peppercorns
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
Preparation
Place all ingredients except clams in a large sauce pan. Simmer on medium heat for 3 minutes; add clams and cover. Simmer until clams open, stirring frequently. Transfer clams to a large bowl. Boil remaining liquid until reduced to 1 cup. Pour broth over clams and serve.
