Later this month, the Florida 4-H Youth Development Program will serve as hosts to over 300 Florida youth at one of their signature events. The 47th Annual Florida 4-H Congress will be held July 30 – August 3, 2012, on the University of Florida Campus. Congress participants take part in educational workshops, awards banquets, leadership building activities, and get a glimpse of what life is like at Gainesville’s famous land grant university.

In addition, they can compete for awards and interview for scholarships as many begin the road to higher academic success.

Information about schedules, special events and even brand new adult and youth handbooks for the event are available at the following link

Florida 4‐H programs are conducted at the county level and guided by 4-H Extension agents and volunteers, impacting more than 240,000 youth annually. Florida 4‐H uses best practices to interest youth in learning, including: experiential learning (learn‐by‐doing), youth‐adult partnerships, fun curriculum materials, and a wealth of local contests, events, community service projects, and collaborations with other youth–serving agencies and organizations.
