Looking for great Florida seafood? You have come to the right place! We have put together a list of many of the great seafood restaurants throughout the state. Some of these restaurants have been run by families generation after generation. Some are new endeavors started by people who want to keep the seafood industry alive and keep Florida’s residents and visitors with full stomachs! It doesn’t matter if you are inland or on the coast, fresh seafood is plentiful.
Depending on the season, these are some of the fresh Florida seafood and aquaculture products you can find at seafood restaurants throughout the state: alligator, amberjack, blue crab, clams, flounder, grouper, king mackerel, mahi-mahi, mullet, oysters, pompano, rock shrimp, scallops, shrimp, snapper, Spanish mackerel, spiny lobster, stone crab claws, swordfish, tilapia, and yellowfin tuna. And that’s just scratching the surface on the many varieties! Here is the complete list of restaurants that have asked to be included. http://www.florida-agriculture.com/consumers/crops/seafoodrest/
Although the list is helpful, I always have good luck asking local residents what their favorite seafood restaurant is. In fact that is how I discovered my favorite one, The Red Bar near Grayton Beach. http://theredbar.com/ It boasts a wonderful atmosphere, a comfortable setting and always delicious and fresh Florida seafood.
We’d like to hear what your favorite seafood restaurant is and what makes it special.
