I love seeing fresh fruits and vegetables on party spreads. It makes me feel less guilty about my glass of wine or the slice of cake I’ll most likely be enjoying at a party. The Florida Peanut Producers Association joined us for the fourth time at “Fresh From Florida” Weekend during the Epcot International Florida and Garden Festival this May. The association is part of a marketing order (check-off program) established in 1975 to research, develop educational programs and promote Florida peanuts.
Florida peanut farmers represented the FPPA to meet with guests and discuss the yummy legume. Guests were given peanut seeds so that they could try to grow them when they returned home, and they were able to get recipes and other health information about the popular, tasty treat.
Because of the versatility of peanuts and peanut products, guests enjoyed meeting with the growers and learning more about how peanuts get from seed to harvest.
