The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services was fortunate to host the 2012-2013 Florida FFA State Officer team for a weeklong internship in September. During the experience, the 8 student officers had the opportunity to visit with many different divisions and offices to learn more about the importance of the department. Their week included farm and ranch tours and visits to Agricultural Law Enforcement, Office of the Commissioner, Food Safety, Florida Forest Service, Marketing, Animal Industries and Aquaculture.
The officers will now take the information they learned and share it with more than 16,000 FFA members in Florida during their year of service. It was an honor for FDACS to be a part of passing along our agricultural legacy to Florida’s young people.
