Fresh From Florida is On The Menu!

The department recently unveiled the Fresh From Florida On The Menu program, which encourages restaurants to serve fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, and other commodities produced in Florida. It is a win-win-win for farmers, restaurants and consumers!
Menus may include scrumptious offerings like Florida salads with gourmet lettuce, spiced pecans, locally-produced cheese, and Florida oranges with a lemon vinaigrette, Florida “Surf & Surf,” (featuring the Florida-caught fish of the day and a Florida spiny lobster tail), or fresh Florida Key Lime pie.
Through partnerships with Talk of the Town Restaurant Group and Rapoport’s Restaurant Group, the Fresh From Florida On The Menu program is growing throughout the state. Just this week it was announced that six Tallahassee restaurants have signed on for a spring promotion (through May 2, 2014) to promote the Florida land and sea commodities that consumers love.
