People travel to Florida from all corners of the world to experience fun in the sun at one of its sandy beaches, and to explore its rich culinary scene! Fresh From Florida has the inside scoop on fine dining and delicious recipes offered on its website, featuring a variety of Florida commodities that are available throughout the year.
But did you know Florida also has a growing agritourism industry with a myriad of attractions for everyone to enjoy including u-pick farms, orchid nurseries, wineries, farm tours and trail rides, among others? During this time of the year when the fall weather makes you want to spend time outdoors, corn mazes are a great treat for visitors to tour local farms.
In an effort to highlight Florida’s growing agritourism industry, VISIT FLORIDA has partnered with Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam to unveil an agritourism feature on VISIT FLORIDA’s website, an addition to VISIT FLORIDA’s Attractions Finder online tool. To help travelers better navigate the diverse sites of Florida agritourism, this new feature allows users to identify attractions that best fit their personal preference, as well as search for other attractions in the Sunshine State.
“Growing agritourism in Florida is a terrific way of marrying two of our oldest industries: tourism and agriculture,” said Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam in a press release. “The growth and success of agritourism in Florida is not only good for our economy, it also celebrates the people, families and businesses that make up Florida agriculture.”
“We are delighted to partner with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to promote the state’s unique Florida agritourism options alongside our other amazing attractions,” said Will Seccombe, President & CEO of VISIT FLORIDA in a press release. “These additions to the Florida Attractions Finder provide a much deeper experience for travelers to explore.”
